Food, prizes and thanks from management highlighted a busy National Employee Appreciation Day on March 6 at Southland Park Gaming & Racing.

Delaware North-owned-and-operated Jumer’s Casino & Hotel in Rock Island, Ill., brought home the Best Martini award at this year’s Martini Shakeoff, held Feb. 19 by the HAVlife Foundation.

Following an extensive, yearlong renovation in the wake of the destruction caused by Cyclone Ita, Delaware North-owned-and-operated Lizard Island Resort will soon reopen its doors. The breathtaking island and 40-room luxury resort, located on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, underwent a $45 million transformation – highlighted not only by repairs but also the addition of new spaces and added amenities.

The March edition of Los Angeles magazine features “50 Great Escapes” and among those listed is Yosemite National Park, where Delaware North operates lodging, food and beverage, retail and recreational services.

Delaware North onFeb. 24added to its already dynamic mix of offerings at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, opening an offshoot of a popular Miami, Fla.,and Atlanta eatery --The Mustard Seed BBQ --in Terminal D, near Gate D26.

While Delaware North operates all visitor services for NASA at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex -- everything from creating exhibits such as Space Shuttle Atlantis to operating bus tours to the launch padsat the legendary space center -- the global hospitality company also stays true to its roots in operating food and beverage services at the iconic educational and tourism destination.

Jon Wilson, a club chef for Delaware North Sportservice at Ralph Wilson Stadium, kicked off the New Year with several milestones set – all part of his bigger plan: Pro Chef II certification, which he will seek later this year.

Delaware North’s United Kingdom team took home the Best Use of Digital Media honors at the 2014 Springboard Awards for Excellence, a gathering of some of the top names in the hospitality industry.
