After Hurricane Ida took a destructive toll on New Orleans and its surrounding coastal area earlier this month, Delaware North stepped up to assist the region with a $10,000 donation to the Game On for Storm Relief fundraising drive organized by the NFL’s New Orleans Saints and NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans.

Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack and Southland Casino Racing, two Delaware North-owned gaming properties, gave local elementary schools in their communities a needed boost last week just as the new school year gets underway.

As part of Delaware North’s ongoing “Game Changer” campaign in its gaming division, Southland Casino Racing recently presenteda check for $47,604 to Families in Transition,a local nonprofit organization.

The Boston Bruins have announced that the Jacobs Family, the Boston Bruins and the Boston Bruins Foundation have pledged a minimum donation of $100,000 to support the recovery of A.J. Quetta, a Boston-area high school hockey player who suffered a spinal cord injury during a game on Jan. 26.

Delaware North’s Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack last week presented a total of $75,000 to 15 different charities throughout the Wheeling Island, W.Va., community.
