FARMINGTON, N.Y.– Early entries are set for Opening Day of the 2013 live thoroughbred racing season at Finger Lakes Casino and Racetrack (FLCR). The nine-race Saturday afternoon card will kick off the 162-day meet. Post time for the first race is scheduled for 1:10 p.m. Racing gates open at 11:30 a.m.

50th Season Concludes At Finger Lakes

FARMINGTON, N.Y. – Finger Lakes Casino and Racetrack concluded its 50th year of racing on Friday with Bandit Lady winning the final race of the season. Wilfredo Rohena guided the 5-year-old mare to a six and three-quarter length victory in the ninth race for trainer Jeremiah Englehart.

Clean Jean Named 2012 Horse Of The Year

FARMINGTON, N.Y. – Clean Jean was named 2012 Finger Lakes “Horse of the Year” at the annual Finger Lakes Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association awards dinner on Saturday. The chestnut filly owned by Mark Valentine registered a total of eight wins in fourteen Finger Lakes starts this year.

FARMINGTON, N.Y. – West Hills Giant scored a one and one-quarter length victory in the 50th renewal of the $247,338 New York Breeders’ Futurity on Saturday at Finger Lakes Casino and Racetrack. The chestnut colt trained by John Terranova, II won the rich event for New York-bred 2-year-olds at odds of 6-1.

FARMINGTON, N.Y. – Color Blind rallied to win the 17th renewal of the $50,000 Jack Betta Be Rite Handicap at Finger Lakes Casino and Racetrack on Saturday. The 3-year-old filly defeated her older New York-bred rivals in a one mile and one-sixteenth time of 1:46.19.
