Delaware North’s innovation at concessions stands across Major League Baseball is making headlines, and two recent stories spotlight how Sportservice continues to tap into fan trends, social media buzz and local tastes to create memorable ballpark experiences.
The two stories underscore a larger trend across venues at which Sportservice operates: blending culinary creativity, local relevance and social media appeal to enhance the gameday experience.

At Rate Field, Sportservice and the Chicago White Sox introduced the “Muneshot Sushi Push-Pop,” inspired by Japanese rookie star Munetaka Murakami. The dish features sushi served in a push-pop format and comes in varieties such as shrimp tempura and California crunch rolls.
The Athletic (a New York Times’ online sports publication) covered the new, viral dish – led by Sportservice’s team at the stadium, noting that they’re selling around 700 per game:
“I think sushi has become such a mainstream item for people that they’re willing to try it,” White Sox Chief Marketing Officer Brooks Boyer told The Athletic. “I’m sure people were skeptical of whether this would be good or not, and people seemed to be liking it.”
Soft-Serve Margaritas at American Family Field
Meanwhile, at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Sportservice has scored another hit with new soft-serve margaritas. Available in flavors such as strawberry, lime and mango, the frozen cocktails combine the taste of a margarita with the texture of soft-serve ice cream and are served in oversized margarita glasses topped with edible flowers.

Tom Hecht, Milwaukee Brewers vice president of consumer experiences, spoke to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel about the trend, championed by Sportservice General Manager Kevin Jezewski:
“We’re just trying to provide the customer what they want,” Hecht said. “The food experience at the ballpark is really an integral part of the experience. I believe that some of the food that we offer at the ballpark is some of the best in baseball.”
Tip of the ballcap to Lindsay Truesdell, senior director of marketing for Sportservice, who initially pitched the idea of soft-serve margaritas internally.
