Delaware North Chairman Jeremy M. Jacobs was honored with the Nathan Benderson Community Leadership Award from the Jewish Federation of Greater Buffalo. He accepted the award at the organization’s annual dinner earlier this month before a crowd of more than 500 guests.
Federation President Steven J. Weiss said about Mr. Jacobs’ selection: “Like Nate Benderson, Jeremy Jacobs has created life-changing projects and orchestrated vital opportunities for the city and its people. The Jacobs Neurological Institute and UB’s Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Science are just two examples of his visionary philanthropy.”
After a video tribute – which included testimonial interviews from Delaware North Co-CEO Lou Jacobs, Dr. Elad Levy of the Jacobs Institute, University at Buffalo President Satish Tripathi and Buffalo businessman Jordan Levy – Mr. Jacobs gave brief remarks to show his appreciation.
“Nate Benderson was generous and unassuming, and we were fortunate to have him,” Mr. Jacobs said. “I am honored to receive this award, which is appropriately named for him. I also admire and praise his children for following in his footsteps. Nate leaves a great legacy, and it lives on through his family.”
