Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex will be updating guest safety guidelines in accordance with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Beginning Monday, May 17, 2021, guests who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will no longer be required to wear face coverings while outdoors. All guests, including those who have been fully vaccinated, will still be required to wear face coverings in all indoor locations.

The 32nd annual Tim’s Coats for Kids donation drive to collect coats for needy school children ran from October 16 thru November 22. Over 31 years, the Tim’s Coats for Kids drive has distributed over 150,000 coats to those in need in the community. Viewers donate new and gently-used coats at News Channel 3 and at sponsor locations including Southland Casino Racing. Southland employees were also encouraged to make cash donations to a fund that Southland “matched” and was able to purchase 42 new coats for the drive. In all, Southland employees and guests collected over 200 coats for the drive.

The United Launch Alliance (ULA) Delta II rocket took its place today among iconic giants in theRocket GardenatKennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

Veteran astronauts Michael E. Lopez-Alegria, Pamela A. Melroy and Scott Kelly, will be inducted into the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame® at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex on November 13, 2021. The much-anticipated ceremony will honor these three extraordinary veterans who have all demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in furthering NASA’s mission of exploration and discovery and have been selected to receive one of the highest honors in their industry.

On Friday, December 11, Southland Casino Racing presented Hope House Ministries, a nonprofit organization that supports Crittenden County with emergency food, with a check for $41,075. Southland’s initial Game Changer campaign from September through November raised $41,075 for Hope House Ministries.

Springboard UK, a nonprofit charity that supports unemployed people in the hospitality field to improve their skills, confidence and job prospects, awarded Delaware North the “Best Use of Technology to Improve Customer Experience Category”in its annual Awards for Excellence.
