WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (December 15, 2020) – On Friday, December 11, Southland Casino Racing presented Hope House Ministries, a nonprofit organization that supports Crittenden County with emergency food, with a check for $41,075. Southland’s initial Game Changer campaign from September through November raised $41,075 for Hope House Ministries.
For guests of the gaming venue, it’s as easy as dropping off and gifting the change that’s left on a slot voucher or racing ticket at wishing wells, located throughout the casino floor.
The campaign is part of parent company Delaware North’s “Game Changer” initiative across its gaming properties in the United States, with the goal of making a positive change in those local communities.
“We have a deep appreciation for the work that Hope House Ministries does to help our community,” said David Wolf, general manager and president of Southland Casino Racing. “And to take it a step further – it’s wonderful to know that we are a part of something even larger, as patrons of other gaming venues within our company’s U.S. portfolio are helping those in need within their respective communities.”
All proceeds of Delaware North’s Game Changer campaign are provided to local organizations focused on creating positive community impact within each participating location.
On December 1, Southland Casino Racing launched its next fundraising campaign to benefit Families in Transition (FIT), a nonprofit organization that supports Crittenden County by providing shelter, safety and support to victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, sexual assault, elder abuse, teen dating violence and surviving family members of homicide victims.
The Game Changer initiative is designed to function throughout the year, with multiple local charities benefitting at each location, including at Southland Casino Racing. Other Delaware North gaming locations set to participate at this time are Jumer’s Casino & Hotel (Rock Island, Ill.); Mardi Gras Casino & Resort (Nitro, W.Va.); and Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack (Wheeling, W.Va.).
