Donations to benefit the United Way, Health Right, Soup Kitchen & Catholic Charities of Wheeling, WV
(Wheeling, WV – December 20, 2017) Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack is helping feed local families this holiday season with a charitable donation of 150 hams to the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley, Wheeling Health Right, the Soup Kitchen and Catholic Charities of West Virginia.
All organizations will provide hot meals for local families in and around Ohio County this week for the Christmas holiday. The United Way, Catholic Charities, the Soup Kitchen and Wheeling Health Right have received holiday food donations from Wheeling Island for many years now.
Each year, Wheeling Island purchases hams as a gift for each of their associates. To help others in need, some Wheeling Island associates chose to donate their ham. Additionally, Wheeling Island purchases hams for the sole purpose of donating the food to local charities during the holidays.
Kimberly Florence, President & General Manager, will be on-hand for the ham pick-up on Wednesday, December 20 and is proud to be a part of a team that is dedicated in giving back to the community “We are very fortunate that our company and our associates are committed to giving back to the local community we live in.” Florence said, “Providing this donation of food to wonderful organizations will help provide hundreds of hot, fresh meals to those in need this Christmas weekend."
