FISH CAMP, Calif.— October 16, 2019 — Set on 75 forested acres at the doorstep to Yosemite National Park, Tenaya Lodge is a family-friendly holiday getaway in a “tree-mendous” setting. This year, holiday revelers will find even more to be merry about with new, two-bedroom cabin accommodations and a fun variety of old and new resort traditions that make the resort a top destination for holiday celebrations.
TREEMENDOUS Holidays in the Explorer Cabins
Tenaya’s new Explorer Cabins are the perfect home base from which to create lasting holiday memories. Surrounded by towering cedars and pines as well as miles of pristine forest trails, there’s no better place to settle in for a long winter’s night. The cozy, two-bedroom cabins include fireplaces, board games and cozy Pendleton blankets as well as communal fire pits for keeping toasty beneath the stars while roasting holiday s’mores.
Whether choosing to stay in an Explorer Cabin or at the main lodge, visitors can save on a holiday getaway to Tenaya through November 3 with the Treemendous Holiday Package that includes 20 percent off lodging for stays between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31. Making the deal even merrier is the inclusion of a revitalizing peppermint scalp enhancement with any 60-minute treatment at Ascent Spa as well as a complimentary giant sequoia sapling to take home as a reminder of cherished time spent at the property. The package is subject to availability and black out dates; minimum length of stay may apply.
Holiday Fun For All Ages
Tenaya’s main lodge is a hub for holiday activities that begin in November and continue through New Year’s Day. Thanksgiving weekend marks the official start of the season and includes a grand ceremony to light Tenaya’s giant, 35-foot, sustainably harvested holiday tree that adorns the lobby. The weekend also marks the opening of Tenaya’s picturesque outdoor ice-skating rink.
With the holiday tree aglow, Tenaya turns its attention to holiday programming designed to delight the entire family. Back by popular demand are the lodge’s wildly popular Gingerbread House Workshops. Families return year after year to choose from a buffet of cookie and candy fixings to build the ultimate dream house. Tenaya’s Kids Dinner with Santa is another highly anticipated, annual resort offering. Little ones aged 4 to 12 enjoy an evening with Santa and his elves that includes dinner, holiday games, crafts and activities. New this year are Family Watercolorclasses. Local artist and naturalist, Shirley Spencer, guides guests of all ages through easy-to-follow instructions as they create their own masterpiece of Yosemite National Park. Wine is included for the adults and juice for those under 21. And the fun doesn’t stop there. Other holiday activities include ornament decorating workshops, cookie decorating, good night yoga, complimentary hot chocolate and creating pine-cone turkeys.
Holiday Dining
When it comes to food, Tenaya has the holidays covered with sumptuous Thanksgiving and Christmas Buffetscomplete with all the savory and sweet fixings to appeal to kids and adults. Live music and no dishes to clean up afterward make for a grand experience for all. Plus, private rooms are available for larger family groups.
Bubbles and Bowties to Welcome 2020
At the close of the holiday season, Tenaya will welcome the New Year with a Bubbles and Bowties themed celebration that includes a cocktail reception with “fizz” and whiskey bar, lavish buffet and live entertainment for dancing the night away. The property is offering a two-night New Year's Eve Package that includes two tickets to the New Year’s Eve party, New Year’s Day breakfast and a late check-out. The package starts at $490 per night.
Kids enjoy their own New Year’s Eve fun with separate, supervised and age-appropriate parties. Younger ones ages 4 to 8 will delight in the Tiny Bubbles party complete with under-the-sea theme, dinner, movies, games and more. For ages 9 to 12, the Ready Player One party promises to keep kids entertained with gaming, a DJ, dancing and dinner. New Year’s Eve parties for kids are $75 per child. Children 13 and over are welcome at the main party and childcare is available for little ones under age 4.
