Camelback Ranch – a state-of-the-art Major League Baseball spring training facility for the Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers in Glendale, Ariz. – recently hosted several nontraditional baseball games when the Savannah Bananas made their way to the venue for three sold-out nights.
Delaware North Sportservice operates foodservice at the ballpark, and several managers from across the country came out to support the games, Feb. 6-8, as part of the Banana Ball World Tour.
The Savannah Bananas are an exhibition baseball team based in Savannah, Ga., known for their entertaining and unconventional approach to the game. They play a version of baseball called Banana Ball, designed to be fast-paced and fun for fans.
Delaware North matched the pandemonium with special packaging and concessions specials for fans, including Fried Oreos with Banana Pudding, a Family Chicken Tender Basket and Family Nachos (nacho chips, jerk chicken, nacho cheese, salsa, banana peppers, sour cream and scallions).
Camelback Ranch is the first venue with Delaware North services to host the Savannah Bananas this year, with games scheduled in the coming months at Truist Park in Atlanta (March), Busch Stadium in St. Louis s (April), Rate Field in Chicago (August) and Petco Park in San Diego (September).
