Amy Latimer shares industry insights during sports-focused podcast

VOL 26 | ISSUE 9 | MARCH 3, 2025

Amy Latimer, executive vice president and chief operating officer for Delaware North, recently was featured on “Skin in the Game,” a podcast that highlights business news in the world of sports. Produced by Buffalo’s NPR station WBFO, the podcast is hosted by sports marketing expert John Cimperman and seasoned sports business journalist Tim O’Shei.

During the episode, Latimer discussed innovation at several stadiums and arenas where Delaware North operates, trends within the industry and the importance of delivering a memorable experience for guests through strong partnerships.

She spoke about the importance of understanding guests and their expectations, which has resulted in expanded food options at sports arenas, including through collaborations with local chefs and partners, and curating “Instagrammable moments” for guests by offering unique items such as the Waffle Fry Battle Boat available at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, N.Y.

Latimer discussed bringing Delaware North Chairman Jeremy Jacobs’ vision to life through the development of the company-owned-and-operated TD Garden and the adjacent Hub on Causeway. She also highlighted the importance of creating a multiuse
space that benefits the entire community, including the addition of a tunnel for easier access to public transportation and a grocery store.

“We’re a neighbor and it is our job to make sure we give back to the community appropriately through the different foundations and also through the building, [and] including a grocery store [as part of The Hub on Causeway] was so important to the
community,” Latimer said.

Latimer also spoke about aligning Delaware North’s partnership strategy with company goals and keeping the guest experience at the forefront.

“We want to make sure we are delivering on the brand promise for our partners. You can’t control what happens on the field or the ice or on the court, but that guest experience is our responsibility. And I think that’s the fun part,” Latimer said.
