April was a busy month for Delaware North team members at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, who spent time away from busy operations to give back to the community. Delaware North partnered with the Jacksonville Jaguars for two days of volunteering with local nonprofit organizations.

Pictured above are Tanya Kornegay, human resources manager, and Kianna Brown, human resources coordinator, during an outing at Waste Not Florida, which aims to alleviate food insecurity. Team members checked food donation quality, cleaned and organized storage areas, unloaded truckloads of donations and even helped plant five herb gardens at the Waste Not campus.

EverBank Stadium team members also supported Eartha’s Farm & Market in Jacksonville through the Clara White Mission initiative, which has served the local community since 1904 through programs for low-income individuals and military veterans in housing, job training, feeding and advocacy.

This team got their hands dirty, from laying compost to nourishing fruit trees and harvesting fennel to weeding rows of produce. Pictured above at the urban farm are (left to right) Marcus Snead, general manager; Brenda Dolan, executive sous chef; Steven McQueeny, executive chef; Irvin Benitez, IT manager; Kris White, concessions sous chef; Madison Newell, catering operations manager; Radiance Galvin, all-inclusive manager; Dee McNeil, all-inclusive sous chef; and Jen Wu, senior food and beverage manager.

Patina 250, operated by Patina Group at Delaware North’s corporate headquarters in Buffalo, regularly features seasonal and local ingredients. Executive Chef Evan Wargo, Executive Sous Chef Jakob Sleight, Cook Zach Walters and Cook Joe Gates last week foraged ramps (wild leeks) in East Aurora, N.Y., for spring menu items, including the sea bass entree. Pictured (left to right) are Sleight, Walters and Gates with the bounty of ramps.

Internal audit and Global Business Services team members from corporate headquarters on April 29 attended the Buffalo Niagara Partnership (BNP) “Tee Up for Networking” event, which Delaware North sponsored. As Western New York’s largest chamber of commerce, the BNP regularly hosts events for young professionals.
