Holidays in Space, the annual holiday-themed event at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, which Delaware North operates for NASA on Florida’s Space Coast, wrapped up on Dec. 30.
Guests of the visitor complex Dec. 20-30 experienced its transformation into a winter wonderland with astronaut nutcrackers, a walk-through Rocket Tree Trail and an iconic 50-foot tree in the Rocket Garden.
One of the highlights of the event was the nightly show, Starflake’s Holiday Voyage, projected on the exterior of Gateway: The Deep Space Launch Complex and ending with a display of dazzling fireworks.
“Guests at the visitor complex during Holidays in Space were immersed in an array of holiday decorations and activities, including our nightly projection show, Starflake’s Holiday Voyage,” said Therrin Proetze, chief operating officer for Delaware North at the visitor complex. “The show is entertaining, following Starflake on her journey through space, but also educational, teaching viewers about the space industry.”
The holiday celebration garnered local media attention, including features from Florida Today and Space Coast Daily. Proetze also participated in live interviews on Good Day Orlando and Fox 35 Orlando (WOFL).
