Delaware North CEO Lou Jacobs has been elected chairman of the American Gaming Association’s (AGA) board of directors, beginning in January 2026.
He will succeed Michael Rumbolz, former chairman and chief executive officer of Everi, who has served as AGA chairman since January 2024.
“It’s an honor to lead the AGA at such a dynamic time,” Jacobs said in the AGA’s Nov. 18 announcement, which was widely reported in gaming trade media. “I look forward to building on AGA’s success and working with CEO Bill Miller and the board to ensure legal gaming remains a strong economic engine for communities across the country.”
As the national trade group representing the U.S. casino industry, the AGA fosters a policy and business environment where legal, regulated gaming thrives. The AGA’s diverse membership of commercial and tribal casino operators, sports betting and iGaming companies, gaming suppliers and more lead the industry and support nearly 2 million jobs across the country.
“Lou’s tremendous experience across the gaming and hospitality ecosystem makes him an exceptional choice to be AGA’s next chairman,” said AGA President and CEO Bill Miller. “His perspective as a longtime industry leader and active board member of the AGA will be instrumental as we continue to champion policies that strengthen and sustain our industry.”
During his remarks, Jacobs said:
What has always set the AGA apart is our ability to bring together people and companies who, on most days, are competitors, and give us a place where that competition is set aside.
Continuing the tradition of focusing on what we can agree on while advocating for the best interests of our industry is essential. We leave our differences at the door and work towards the advancement of an industry that could face real consequences if we aren’t responsible stewards.
That sense of unity is the product of thoughtful leadership from those who came before me and the willingness of everyone in this room to set aside personal or competitive interest for the betterment of our industry. It’s one of the defining strengths of this organization, and that is the spirit I hope to carry forward as chair.
