Twins Fans to Enjoy The Loon Café’s Chili and Pork Chops from J.D. Hoyt’s at Target Field

MINNEAPOLIS – ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Twins and Target Field food service partner Delaware North Sportservice today announced a partnership with The Loon Café and J.D. Hoyt’s restaurants to serve both establishments’ famous menu items. The Loon Café, a Warehouse District favorite since 1981, will serve Pecos River Red chili at Target Field. J.D. Hoyt’s, a staple of downtown Minneapolis since 1983, will serve a variation of its famous grilled Cajun pork chop.

The Loon’s Pecos River Red chili, made with lean cubed sirloin steak, onions, chili peppers and Tex-Mex spices, will be served at three Halsey’s Sausage Haus locations throughout the stadium.

J.D. Hoyt’s 5 oz. grilled Cajun pork chop, rubbed in Hoyt’s special seasoning, seared and then slow cooked over hickory smoked fire, will be available at all State Fair Classics locations within Target Field.

“We’re proud to be offering two more local and world famous food favorites to our fans at Target Field,” said Twins President Dave St. Peter. “The Loon Café’s chili and J.D. Hoyt’s pork chop add to the list of the best in local fare that we can now provide as dining options for our fans.”
The Loon Café and J.D. Hoyt’s ownership and the restaurant’s chefs worked closely with the Twins and their food service partner Delaware North Sportservice on the chili and pork chop offering to provide the best tasting items for great value at Target Field.

“The Loon Cafe and J.D. Hoyt’s have been serving Twins fans, players and broadcasters for nearly 30 years,” said Tim Mahoney, The Loon Café’s managing partner. “We look forward to bringing two award winning food options down the street to Target Field for all fans to enjoy.”

“Sportservice continues to find and offer some of the best culinary concepts in the local market,” said Pete Spike, Sportservice general manager at Target Field. “A cup of The Loon Café’s chili and a Hoyt’s pork chop will be a great dining option for those cold days in April and well into the postseason.”
