Delaware North’s travel division recently announced the opening of Tacodeli, a popular Austin-born restaurant specializing in “farm-to-taco” Mexican fare at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS). Also announced was the opening of Coffee & Bagels, a joint restaurant combining Einstein Bros. Bagels and Caribou Coffee.
“Tacodeli is yet another Austin-area favorite that we’re bringing to the airport for travelers to enjoy,” said Kevin Kelly, president of Delaware North’s travel business. “In addition to the local flavor from Tacodeli, we’re excited to open a coffee-bagel powerhouse combination of Einstein Bros. Bagels and Caribou Coffee. Both are exceptional brands that have proven to be popular for travelers no matter the city or airport.”
At Tacodeli, fresh ingredients provide the foundation for an array of chicken, pork, beef and vegetarian tacos as well as a choice of salads and a robust breakfast menu at the fast-casual dining concept. Tacodeli will also feature its award-winning salsas (including Doña) chips made with 100 percent organic masa, and a variety of local beer.
In addition to offering a wide selection of Caribou Coffee’s coffee and tea products, the Einstein Bros.-Caribou Coffee quick-serve concept will serve sandwiches, bagel pizza, salads and espresso drinks; this fast-casual establishment also offers an all-day breakfast menu. With bagel flavors such as cinnamon sugar, mac & cheese, apple cinnamon and chocolate chip, patrons will also be able to enjoy a variety of reduced-fat schmear such as blueberry, honey almond, strawberry and maple.
The openings are part of the ongoing dining and retail transformation at AUS and join a host of other locally inspired concepts opened in the past year. Delaware North this summer opened The Peached Tortilla, JuiceLand and Hippies & Hops, which joined I VINI and expanded versions of other Austin favorites Salt Lick BBQ, Annie’s Café, Book People bookstore and Tyler’s specialty apparel store.
