Delaware North Sportservice chefs and culinary teams rolled out brand-new items to keep hungry hockey fans happy this season. Here is a sampling of some of the new items:
A local favorite will be added to concession stands at Amalie Arena, home of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Capital Tacos, a Tampa-area taco restaurant, will debut at the arena with two tacos, two rice bowls and two salads on the menu, in addition to chips with a special salsa and the Countdown Cookie, a half-pound chocolate chip cookie topped with whipped cream.
Throughout the season, each Lightning player will also team up with Capital Tacos to develop and name its signature Taco of the Month. A portion of the taco’s sales is then donated to a charity of the players’ choice.
Bridgestone Arena, home to the Nashville Predators, underwent renovations in the offseason to improve the dining experience for fans.
“With all of the ongoing renovations and all the things that the team does to freshen the experience for the fan, part of that is the food experience,” Delaware North Executive Chef Wade Gnann told the Predators’ website. “We work very hard over the summer to bring fresh and new offerings to everyone that comes in. We’ve got a lot of diehard fans with a lot of high expectations. That’s what we work for every summer.”
Many of the new food items this season have a distinctly Southern flair. New items include Jalapeno Popper Grilled Cheese, Hot Chicken Fries, the Biscuit Burger, and Nashville’s Finest Dog made with BBQ pork, hot chicken and pimento cheese.
