Satterfield’s Bar & Lounge opens at Buffalo Niagara International Airport

BUFFALO, N.Y. (Oct. 30, 2025) – A new pre-security bar and lounge has officially opened at Buffalo Niagara International Airport, offering a warm and inviting space for meeters and greeters ahead of the airport’s centennial celebration in 2026.

Named Satterfield’s Bar & Lounge, the venue honors the legacy of airport founder John M. Satterfield and celebrates Buffalo’s rich aviation heritage. The 50-seat lounge features décor and wall graphics that pay tribute to the region’s aviation history, creating a visual storytelling experience that connects guests to the airport’s roots while evoking the feeling of returning home.

“Satterfield’s captures the character of Buffalo and taps into the history of our airport,” said Director of Aviation Lee Weitz. “We’ve been intentional in exploring ways to enhance the pre-security experience, and Satterfield’s offers travelers a welcoming space with genuine hometown flavor.”

The lounge operates primarily from late morning into the evening, launching with a focused menu that will include flatbreads, salads, sandwiches and small plates. A grab-and-go cooler offers a variety of local beers for purchase, including six packs for travelers heading home.

The concept was developed by longtime airport concessionaire Delaware North.

“Satterfield’s is more than just a place to grab a drink – it’s a tribute to Buffalo’s aviation legacy and a welcoming space for travelers and locals alike,” said Andy Altomare, vice president of Travel operations for Delaware North.

Satterfield’s Bar & Lounge is now open to the public and located in the airport’s pre-security area.
