Pet-friendly Delaware North Parks and Resorts locations featured by USA Today

Several Delaware North Parks and Resorts locations were featured in a recent roundup article highlighting unique accommodations they offer to guests traveling with pets.

The USA Today 10Best article, “Unleash the fun: 8 dog-friendly national parks to visit this year,” highlights Tenaya at Yosemite, Yavapai Lodge, The Squire at Grand Canyon, a Holiday Inn Resort and Big Meadows Lodge in Shenandoah National Park.

Each property is included as a dog-friendly choice for overnight accommodations when visiting one of the featured parks, with a link to the property’s website.

Excerpts from the article are below:

Fido-friendly rooms (at Tenaya) include comfortable dog beds, water bowls and dog waste baggies. For an additional fee, splurge on the pet package with upgrades like house-made gourmet treats and a dog toy.

Inside the park, Yavapai Lodge welcomes pets. Just minutes from the South Entrance, The Squire at Grand Canyon, a Holiday Inn Resort, offers pet-friendly rooms and amenities. For a nightly pet fee, the hotel supplies a dog crate, food and water bowls and some treats.

You’ll find pet-friendly lodging inside (Shenandoah) park at Big Meadows Lodge, which opens for the season in early May. The family-friendly property allows well-behaved dogs in designated rooms and cabins for a fee. The lodge also hosts a “Yappy Hour” menu and “Canine Cuisine” meals, which you can order for your furry best friend. Pets are allowed on the outdoor patio to mingle with other guests and their canines.
