Patina 250, the Patina Restaurant Group-operated eatery located in The Delaware North Building in Buffalo, N.Y., last week kicked off a new cooking series, “Mastering Home Cooking with Homer.”
Led by Executive Chef Homer Ford, the first class focused on “Owning the Grill.” Guests were treated to a three-course menu of grilled favorites, including panzanella salad, burger sliders and New York strip steak. With assistance from Executive Sous Chef Evan Wargo, Ford prepared each dish while demonstrating his techniques, explaining his cooking strategies and answering guest questions. Restaurant Manager Caitlin McAuliffe selected beer and wine pairings for each course.
“Learning the techniques, enjoying a restaurant-quality meal — it was really exceptional. Everything was outstanding,” said one guest.
The class — which sold out less than two hours after being announced — was intimate, with only 10 spots available. Each guest received a Patina 250-branded tote bag, apron and charcuterie knife.
“Loved the helpful tips, all the information on technique, and the food was excellent,” said another guest. “The chefs were amazing — staff was excellent, friendly, knowledgeable. Presentation superb! I’ve attended many cooking classes. This was the best.”
Patina 250’s cooking class series was modeled on the popular “L’Atelier de 8.5” cooking series at Patina Restaurant Group’s Brasserie 8½.
