When 5-year-old Shawn Kennedy recently walked into Buffalo Niagara International Airport, he probably had one thing on his mind – his upcoming chance to meet his hero, Stephen Curry, the defending MVP of the NBA.
Thanks to the efforts of a local fundraiser, Shawn – a Niagara Falls, N.Y., resident who is suffering from inoperable brain cancer – and his family were treated to a trip to watch Curry’s Golden State Warriors take on the Miami Heat. Shawn was also given an opportunity to meet Curry after the game.
When Nick Curtis, an assistant manager for Delaware North at the airport, learned that Shawn was flying out of Buffalo, he stepped in to make sure his group did not board the plane hungry – providing the family with lunch at Which Wich, a popular submarine sandwich shop operated by Delaware North.
