Hot Dog and Hamburger Square Off In Historic Election Campaign

WILLIAMSPORT, PA (August 15, 2008) - In this heated election season, what's on everyone's mind in the fiercely contested swing state of Pennsylvania is the campaign? no, not Obama vs. McCain. For Little League fans, the real question is who will win the epic showdown between Hot Dog and Hamburger?

Delaware North Companies Sportservice, a global leader in sports hospitality and concessions provider at this year's 62nd Annual Little League World Series®, announced it will conduct a 'straw poll' vote August 18-23 during this year's tournament in Williamsport, Pa. Little League fans under the age of 18 will be eligible to cast a ballot for either Hot Dog or Hamburger at the official voting booth in historic Lamade Stadium.

"We're excited about the Little League World Series and the race between Hot Dog and Hamburger," said Rick Abramson, president of Delaware North Companies Sportservice. "Sportservice is dedicated to providing fans with the best concession offerings and game experience possible."

Sportservice has designed menus for the Little League World Series that will focus on big league portions and family-friendly pricing. Considering the number of young children and families who attend the event, Sportservice works hard to design pricing that accommodates these fans. Sportservice has also added four additional Dippin' Dots ice cream carts, various other ice cream kiosks and fresh roasted almonds. Other new concession items include pulled pork and hot roast beef sandwiches.

Sportservice started the sports concession industry in the early 1900's and continues to hold contracts with numerous professional and minor league sports teams. The company handles some combination of concessions, premium dining and retail for nine major league stadiums and will be the official provider for the Minnesota Twins new stadium in 2010.

Voting will be overseen on site by Sportservice Executive Chef Joe Ditri. The winners will be announced during the Little League World Series Championship Game. More than 300,000 fans are expected to attend this year's tournament.
