Delaware North Companies Bolsters its California Presences with Renovations at Ontario International Airport

Four new concepts slated to open at airport this summer

BUFFALO, N.Y. (June 24, 2008) – Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services, one of the world’s leading airport food and retail providers, has announced it will introduce four new concepts at Ontario International Airport by the end of summer. The concepts include T.G.I. Fridays, Schlotsky’s Deli, El Paseo Bar and Grill and a nationally recognized coffee brand.

Delaware North introduced the changes after receiving a five-year contract extension to provide food and beverage at Ontario Airport. The company has provided such services to the Ontario airport and its travelers since 1998.

To complete the renovations at Ontario International Airport, Delaware North will renovate nearly 80 percent of its current operating space. The new space will allow for the addition of T.G.I. Fridays, a casual fare restaurant recognized nationally for its extensive appetizers, salads and entrees. The other new concepts include Schlotsky’s Deli, an international sandwich deli; El Paseo Bar & Grill, offering casual fare and live entertainment; and a nationally recognized coffee brand.

The contract extension and renovations further solidifies Delaware North’s strong California presence. The global foodservice and hospitality company operates the food and beverage operations at many of the state’s airports, national and state parks and stadiums.

"Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services has had notable success in the state of California with our work at Los Angeles International and Ontario Airport," said Matt King, president of Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Service. "We’re excited to grow that rewarding partnership with these new concepts."

Delaware North operates the iconic Encounter Restaurant at the Los Angeles International Airport. Located within the landmark Theme Building, Encounter provides fine cuisine lunch, dinner and dessert menus in a spectacular, space-age setting. While guests and travelers dine, they’re provided with an impressive 360° view of the airport. The company also operates a handful of other food and beverage concepts located within the airport terminal including; Wolfgang Puck Pizza Express, Daily Grill and Back Lot Deli and bar.

"Delaware North has a strong business advantage in the California area through our work not only in Ontario, but also with operations in San Diego, Los Angeles and Yosemite," said King. "We’re able to share resources and information with our other divisions allowing us to provide each location with the offerings and customer service they deserve. It’s something we leverage on a daily basis to enhance our clients return and our customers’ experience."

Through the company’s Parks & Resort’s division, Delaware North operates foodservice and hospitality at Yosemite and Sequoia National Park and Asilomar. In these locations the company manages lodging facilities including The Ahwahnee, Wuksachi Lodge, and Asilomar Conference Center respectively.
