Delaware North awarded new food and beverage outlets at Perth Airport

Delaware North and Perth Airport in Australia earlier this month announced the development of four new first-to-market food and beverage concepts. These additional sites are the latest development in Delaware North’s more than 30 years of partnership with Perth Airport.

“We are incredibly excited to bring these innovative food and beverage concepts to Perth Airport,” said Gary Brown, managing director of Delaware North Australia and New Zealand. “This expansion reflects our commitment to enhancing the passenger experience with unique and high-quality offerings that celebrate the best of Perth and Western Australia.”

The new outlets will include:

  • Gage Roads Sports Bar (landside): Delaware North has collaborated with Gage Roads Brew Co. to develop the first Gage Roads Sports Bar. The venue will feature multiple digital screens, a pub-style menu, an entertainment arcade and showcase Western Australia produce and Gage Roads craft beers and ciders, creating a sports lover’s paradise with a family-friendly atmosphere.
  • Hungry Jack’s (landside): A reimagined Hungry Jack’s outlet will include self-order kiosks and operate 24 hours a day, offering barista-made coffee, a breakfast menu and a family-friendly environment, providing passengers with a reliable dining option.
  • The Social (landside): This community-based café will partner with Little Owl Coffee Roasters to offer locally roasted coffee and live entertainment. The Social will focus on creating a vibrant atmosphere with a central bar featuring local beverages, celebrating the distinct attributes of Australia’s West Coast hospitality.
  • Matso’s Brewhouse (airside): This will be the first hospitality venue for Matso’s Brewery outside of Broome, a beach resort town in the Kimberly region of Western Australia. It will feature Matso’s ginger beer and mango beer, regional produce and a pan-Asian-influenced menu. The family-friendly restaurant and bar will also offer Matso’s merchandise.

“It is fantastic to have our valued partner Delaware North be part of our significant refurbishment and refresh of the customer offering at T1 International,” said Kate Holsgrove, Perth Airport chief commercial and aviation officer. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with the globally experienced team at Delaware North to deliver four new exciting outlets in Terminal 1 International that will enhance the customer experience at Perth Airport.”

Delaware North’s expansion coincides with significant growth in passenger traffic over recent years at Perth Airport.

In 2024, Perth Airport served approximately 16.9 million passengers, a 12% increase compared to 2023. Monthly passenger traffic has also shown consistent growth, with February 2025 seeing a 2% increase compared to the same month in 2024.

Recent terminal upgrades and ongoing redevelopment projects are also expected to boost passenger traffic at the airport. The multibillion-dollar redevelopment includes a new terminal at Airport Central, a new parallel runway, two multistory carparks and an airport hotel. Over time, upgrades will enhance the airport’s capacity and efficiency, supporting the anticipated domestic and international air traffic growth.

The new Delaware North terminal facilities will cater to a diverse range of passengers, reinforcing Perth Airport as a world-class travel hub and Western Australia as a global tourist destination. Initial construction will start in the coming months, with all four sites anticipated to be up and operating by the end of September.

Delaware North’s expansion at Perth Airport is a part of the company’s broader strategy to grow its operations in the Australian and New Zealand tourism and leisure markets. Delaware North operates in many major airports, including in Melbourne and Adelaide in Australia, Auckland in New Zealand and more than 20 airports in the United States.

Several industry publications covered the four new company outlets at Perth Airport, including The Moodie Davitt Report, Future Travel Experience and Asian Aviation.
