Throughout the coming months, Delaware North locations around the globe will be holding special celebrations for the company’s 100th anniversary – and we will be sharing the highlights on the company’s social and digital platforms.
Here’s a look at a pair of locations that have already held festivities in honor of Delaware North’s centennial:
Miami Valley Gaming – which Delaware North operates in partnership with Churchill Downs Inc. – kicked off its celebration with an associate luau on June 17. Associates at the Southwest Ohio venue had the chance to swing their hips to the tropical, Hawaiian beat, and a competitive limbo contest really fired up the crowd.
Throughout the ensuing month, free tickets were given away to the MLB All-Star Game and Home Run Derby at nearby Great American Ball Park, home of a longtime Delaware North Sportservice partner, the Cincinnati Reds. More recently, Miami Valley Gaming associates all screamed for ice cream on July 17 during the Happy 100th Anniversary Employee Ice Cream Social.
Over in Michigan, Delaware North’s team at Comerica Park – home of the Detroit Tigers – donned dressy outfits for a fanciful 100th-anniversary picnic featuring karaoke, dancing and chances to win many valuable prizes, including flat-screen televisions, tablets and an electric guitar. A group of 30 former associates from the old Tiger Stadium – ranging from 60 to 90 years old – were invited to receive a special tribute for their hard work and dedication. To cap things off, a commemorative mural was created to archive past and present associates’ signatures and years of hire – forever cementing their legacy into that of Delaware North.
