BUFFALO, N.Y. (Oct. 1, 2010) – Less than 20 years after entering the world of hotel management and only nine years after purchasing its first hotel, Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts, a division of the $2 billion-plus global hospitality and food service leader Delaware North Companies, is again included in Hotel & Motel Management’s annual ranking of top hotel managers.

Chefs and other culinary officials of Delaware North Companies are turning their attention to the water this Earth Day. The global leader in hospitality and food service will pledge Thursday to refrain from using 90 percent of the fish and seafood species that are listed on the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch “avoid” list. A plan to address the remaining 10 percent will be drafted by year’s end.

Yosemite Lodge at the Falls, a popular year-round lodging destination in the heart of Yosemite Village, unveiled today two prototype guest rooms on the cutting edge of environmentally-friendly interior architecture and design. The two rooms at The Lodge are the first of their kind in Yosemite National Park.

On Saturday, March 27, at 8:30 p.m. local time, many Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts locations will join organizations, corporations, governments and hundreds of millions of people around the world to turn off their lights in support of Earth Hour, a global initiative aimed at drawing attention to the issue of climate change.

Workers from food service, retail company at Great American Ball Park help clean up local park Saturday in pre-earth day efforts. Delaware North Sportservice also assisting Cincinnati Reds in creating greener ballpark.

Southland held their 2nd Annual Twelve Tournaments of Christmas providing much needed toys and cash during tough economic times. Toys were raised by hosting video poker, handicapping, black jack and poker tournaments for the first twelve days of December.
