Delaware North Sportservice and Cinncinati Reds assisting in Pre-Earth Day Effort

Mangers and associates of Delaware North Sportservice are set to help the Hamilton County Park District clean up Woodland Mound Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday in celebration of the upcoming Earth Day, April 22.
More than 50 Sportservice volunteers will help pick up trash and debris along the banks of the Ohio River that is deposited by the river’s rise and fall. The volunteers, under direction of a park ranger, will focus on the Steamboat Bend Camp Ground area of the park, 465 Steamboat Drive.
Sportservice is the exclusive food, beverage and retail services provider for the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park.

"This is a great opportunity for Sportservice to give back to the community for all of its support of the Reds and Great American Ball Park and to help the environment," said Don Dierig, Sportservice’s general manager.

Dierig noted Sportservice is also working to help the "Reds Go Green" by implementing Delaware North’s GreenPath environmental management program in Sportservice’s kitchen and "back-of-the-house" operations at Great American Ball Park.

In addition, Sportservice associates are assisting the Reds with the new comprehensive recycling program in which more than 100 containers have been placed around the ballpark for recycling of plastics and paper by Rumpke at its St. Bernard, Ohio, recycling center.
