Aeronautics will soar to new heights as an expanded roster of aviation stars will take to the skies for the second annual Space & Air Show at Kennedy Space Center featuring the Blue Angels November 8 and 9, 2008.

CPS Events at The Plaza, manager and operator of The Plaza Grand Ballroom, the exquisitely restored and glamorous site of countless memorable New York affairs and events, will host a 100 Mile Menu dinner on Tuesday evening, July 22, 2008.

Framed by the backdrop of famous launch facilities, aerospace, aviation and astronauts will take to the skies for the second annual Space & Air Show at Kennedy Space Center featuring the Blue Angels November 8-9, 2008. On the heels of the successful U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds performance of 2007, the 2008 show will include an expanded roster of aviation stars. Newly announced aerobatic acts scheduled to perform include Mike Goulian, sponsored by Castrol Oil and the Air Force Reserve Biplane Show. Also performing are the U.S. Navy Super Hornet Demo Team, the 920th Rescue Wing, U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet, the F-16 Viper East Demonstration and the A-10 Warthog.

Your mother will feel like royalty as she enjoys breathtaking views of Lake Erie while indulging in a sumptuous Mother’s Day Buffet at The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake on May 11, 2008. Offered in the resort’s Horizons Restaurant, the Mother’s Day Buffet will be available for all members of the family to enjoy from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The seventh group of Space Shuttle astronauts has been named to the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame. Veteran Space Shuttle Astronauts John E. Blaha, Robert D. Cabana, Bryan D. O’Connor and Loren J. Shriver will join an elite group of American space heroes as they are inducted into the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame®. Earlier inductees represent the Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, Skylab and Apollo-Soyuz programs. They will join the ranks of legendary space pioneers like Neil Armstrong, John Glenn, Alan Shepard, Sally Ride and John Young. The public ceremony at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex will be held Saturday, May 3 at 3:00 p.m.

On Friday, February 1, 2008, at 10:00 a.m., The Astronauts Memorial Foundation (AMF) will conduct a ceremony to honor the crew of Space Shuttle Columbia STS-107 on the 5th anniversary of the Columbia accident.The Astronauts Memorial Foundation honors and memorializes all astronauts who have sacrificed their lives for the nation and the space program.The ceremony will be held at the Space Mirror Memorial at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

The stars will be shining at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex as the first ever Fall Concert Series debuts Saturday, November 10.With the iconic Rocket Garden as the backdrop, the live, festival style outdoor concert will happen every Saturday at 4:00 p.m. for four weeks, November 10, 17, 24 and December 1 as part of NASA’s 50th anniversary celebration.
