    Pure Mineral Baths Return to Gideon Putnam’s Roosevelt Baths and Spa

    New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP), in partnership with Delaware North Companies, has announced the conversion of four new spa treatment rooms for guests of the Roosevelt Baths and Spa at Gideon Putnam Resort in Saratoga Spa State Park. OPRHP has converted two of the four treatment rooms to include 100 percent pure mineral bathwater. The new changes will allow spa customers to choose the heating method used to prepare their fresh spring water baths. Two rooms were completed and opened May 30. The remaining two rooms will be completed in time for the Independence Day weekend. The cost of the project is $100,000.

    Niagara Falls State Park Celebrates Earth Day with Local Elementary School Students

    Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts at Niagara Falls State Park has chosen Earth Day as a chance to educate a group of local elementary school students on the importance of environmental stewardship. The company has extended invitations to 43 young leaders from Kalfas Elementary School to visit the park, learn about 'green' practices and help in ongoing beautification projects at the park.

    Space Shuttle Astronauts to Join Prestigious U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame

    The seventh group of Space Shuttle astronauts has been named to the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame. Veteran Space Shuttle Astronauts John E. Blaha, Robert D. Cabana, Bryan D. O’Connor and Loren J. Shriver will join an elite group of American space heroes as they are inducted into the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame®. Earlier inductees represent the Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, Skylab and Apollo-Soyuz programs. They will join the ranks of legendary space pioneers like Neil Armstrong, John Glenn, Alan Shepard, Sally Ride and John Young. The public ceremony at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex will be held Saturday, May 3 at 3:00 p.m.
