Gideon Putnam Resort Announces Unique Summer Packages and New Menu Options

Spa, racing and romance deals among featured packages designed to cater to customer interests


BUFFALO, N.Y. (June 1, 2008) – As part of a plan designed to cater to the specialized interests of its customers, Gideon Putnam Resort & Spa, operated by Delaware North Companies Parks and Resorts, has announced several summer packages. Set in the blossoming Saratoga Springs State Park, the historic resort has proven itself a definitive choice for guests looking to experience nature, leisure and relaxation.

In upcoming months, guests will have the option to select any of the following packages:

Romance Package: Upon arrival, guests will be welcomed by a bottle of champagne and a plate of chocolate covered strawberries. During their stay, they will also be treated to dinner and breakfast for two, and if desired, can experience rejuvenating spa treatments at the Resort’s Roosevelt Baths and Spa for an additional charge. Package includes deluxe one-night accommodations at the resort.

Spa Retreat Package: Those looking to indulge in the spa’s luxurious amenities will be treated to two mineral baths, two one-hour massages and use of the steam room and fitness center at the Roosevelt Bathhouse. Package includes one or two-night accommodations at the resort, as well as breakfast and dinner for two.

Gideon Girls Escape Package: Perfect for busy moms looking for a temporary escape, the Gideon Girls Escape package encourages women to grab a friend or family member and enjoy a night away. In addition to overnight accommodations, the package includes breakfast for two and choice of a spa manicure and pedicure, a European facial or a one-hour Swedish massage.

Harness Racing Package: Familiar with Gideon Putnam Resort’s ability to provide hospitality and entertainment, racing fans know the resort is also equipped with the ultimate accommodations. Racing packages include a one-night stay, breakfast for two, a dinner buffet for two at Fortunes Restaurant, round trip transportation to and from the track and a race schedule.

Thoroughbred Package: Another option for racing enthusiasts, the Thoroughbred package will include two race programs, admission to the race course clubhouse and a two-night minimum stay. Guests will also be treated to dinner and breakfast for two.

Visiting guests will be introduced to new spring and summertime menus which will be available at the resort’s three dining establishments. At the historic Georgian Room, guests will be offered park specials like the Spa Breakfast and The Golfer’s special, in addition to several new dishes incorporating local and fresh summer ingredients. The chilled soup trio, which will feature a Souza Gazpacho, Vichyssoise and Yuzu Melon and Berries, is one of the latest innovations of executive chef Brian Sterner, as well as the Hudson Valley Duck Parpardelle. A fresh Heirloom Tomato Salad will also make its debut, along with new wine lists that have been added to enhance the introduction of these new flavors.

The resort’s seasonal Café in the Park will also open its doors with the arrival of warm weather, and will be offering an afternoon tea served with assorted finger sandwiches and a Tapas Lounge in the evening, in addition to its traditional menu options.
