Biketoberfest Special at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex Gives Bikers Exclusive Space Shuttle Atlantis Photo Opportunity

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. (Oct. 8, 2013) – Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex has announced an exclusive Biketoberfest special offer that allows riders to have a one-of-a-kind photo opportunity in front of the new Space Shuttle AtlantisSM attraction.

This $70 ticket package, valid Oct. 17-20 from 9 to 11 a.m., includes admission for one adult, parking and one 8” x 10” photo. The package allows guests arriving at the Visitor Complex on motorcycles to ride their vehicles into the park to take a photo in front of the towering solid rocket boosters and external fuel tank at the entrance to new 90,000-square-foot, $100-million Space Shuttle Atlantis.

The full-size, high-fidelity replicas of the orange external fuel tank and twin solid rocket boosters reach 184 feet into the air, taller than an 18-story building. Guests walk underneath the external fuel tank to enter Space Shuttle Atlantis.

Space Shuttle Atlantis allows Visitor Complex guests to see the priceless, historic Atlantis spacecraft as only astronauts have seen it before – rotated 43.21 degrees with payload bay doors open and its Canadarm (robotic arm) extended, as if it has just undocked from the International Space Station. But getting nose-to-nose with Atlantis is not all guests can do at this new, 90,000-square-foot attraction. The immersive experience invites guests to “be the astronaut” with never-before-seen, technologically sophisticated multimedia presentations and more than 60 interactive, touch-screen experiences and high-tech simulators that bring to life the people, passion and patriotism of the 30-year Space Shuttle Program.
