Delaware North’s foodservice program at CHS is focused on local, proprietary brands
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C., December 5, 2024 – Delaware North, a global hospitality and entertainment company, today announced another new addition at Charleston International Airport as part of the company’s 10-year contract extension.
Ashley Cooper Provisions, a Delaware North proprietary concept with a local vibe, features a 50-seat area overlooking the tarmac, creating a family-friendly “rooftop” ambiance. Located in the Terminal A-B Connector, Ashley Cooper Provisions replaces and expands on the space where Harvest & Grounds was previously.
Named after the convergence of the Ashley and Cooper Rivers, a defining feature of the city, the new concept will feature Charleston-inspired bites and cocktails, including Southern-inspired appetizers, the Lowcountry Breakfast Biscuit Sandwich, Bloody Mary Shrimp Cocktail and a Pimento Cheese BLT.
“The Ashley and Cooper Rivers have influenced the development and character of Charleston throughout the centuries,” said Michael Blake, director of operations for Delaware North’s airport operations. “Today, the convergence of these rivers continues to be a focal point for both residents and visitors, so we thought it appropriate to make it a defining point of the restaurant.”
Delaware North is proud to operate several food and beverage concepts at CHS, including a new Starbucks that opened in July, and Commonhouse Aleworks which opened in 2023. The company is also looking forward to welcoming renowned local celebrity chef Kardea Brown with her new Southern Table restaurant. Brown, host of the Food Network series “Delicious Miss Brown,” will showcase the rich cultural heritage of Charleston through her culinary creations. Construction is expected to begin in early 2025.
“We are thrilled to welcome Ashley Cooper Provisions to Charleston International Airport as part of our continued commitment to enhancing the passenger experience,” said Elliott Summey, executive director and CEO at the Charleston International Airport. “This new eatery, operated by Delaware North, is a testament to the strength of our partnership and their dedication to bringing high-quality, locally inspired dining options to travelers.”
“Ashley Cooper Provisions will offer an authentic taste of Charleston’s renowned culinary culture, showcasing local flavors that both visitors and our community will appreciate,” Summey continued. “Delaware North has been a great partner in helping us elevate the food and beverage offerings at CHS, and we look forward to furthering this collaboration as we work together to make our airport a world-class destination.”
In honor of the grand opening, Delaware North is partnering with Tito’s Handmade Vodka on a charitable activation benefitting local nonprofit One80 Place. Tito’s “Love Team” has made a $5,000 donation to support One80 Place’s mission to end and prevent homelessness. A special limited-time offer on a limited-time Grand Harvest Cocktail will drive the donation.
The Grand Harvest Cocktail was created by another Charleston favorite, the Cocktail Bandits. The dynamic duo, Johnny Caldwell and Taneka Reaves, are known around the globe as the curly-haired Cocktail Bandits, who promote female empowerment through advocacy for the food and beverage community from a feminine, urban perspective.
