Delaware North Sportservice this week delivered nearly 43,000 clothing items to help with disaster relief efforts taking place around the country after devastating storms struck Texas, Florida and other parts of the Southeast earlier this month. The massive donation was coordinated by Delaware North’s team at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas, and accomplished through the generosity of partners spanning all four major professional sports leagues in the United States. The donation will go directly to the Salvation Army, which will handle distribution to affected areas.

Delaware North worked with its major league partners in the NFL, MLB, NBA, MLS and NHL to gather sports apparel that includes branded jerseys, T-shirts, hoodies and hats. The clothing came from the retail stores operated by Sportservice at 18 sports venues across the country.

“We are extremely proud to be working with teams and owners who allow us to do whatever is necessary to help those in need,” said Carlos Bernal, president of Delaware North Sportservice. “It is our hope that the donation can help families and individuals who have lost everything.”

The clothing represents a true melting pot of sports brands, joining as one team to help their neighbors: the Texas Rangers, Carolina Panthers, Chicago Bears, Buffalo Bills, MetLife Stadium (New York Jets/New York Giants), Red Bull Arena, Baltimore Orioles, Detroit Tigers, Cincinnati Reds, Milwaukee Brewers, Minnesota Twins, San Diego Padres, St. Louis Cardinals, Nashville Predators, Columbus Bluejackets, Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins.

In addition to the clothing, Delaware North previously donated $100,000 to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.
