Tenaya Lodge and Wuksachi Lodge team up to give back

A pair of Delaware North teams in central California recently joined forces to make a difference in the community.

Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite, the Delaware North-owned-and-operated resort in Fish Camp, Calif., joined Wuksachi Lodge, which Delaware North operates at Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park, to donate a variety of gently-used furniture to Wings in Fresno, Calif. Wings is a non-profit organization that helps families escaping domestic violence, veterans and the chronically homeless.

“Wings is grateful for the generous donations from both Wuksachi Lodge and Tenaya Lodge,” said Anna Hecker, president of the Wings board of directors. “It is Wings’ belief that their furniture bank program, which delivers gently used home (and hotel!) furnishings and new beds to recently homeless families and individuals, increases the chance of a successful housing placement and improves children’s ability to perform at school. Every advantage given to Fresno’s children increases the probability of breaking the cycle of poverty and hopelessness.”

Both Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite and Wuksachi Lodge are located less than 90 minutes from Fresno.
