Here’s a look at a few more of the special celebrations recently held by Delaware North locations to mark the company’s 100th anniversary. More celebrations will be profiled each week during the 100-day anniversary celebration through early December.
A day after last week’s “Banner Moments” celebration, CEO of Delaware North’s Boston Holdings Charlie Jacobs led a champagne toast to both Delaware North’s 100th and TD Garden’s 20th anniversaries. He shared stories from Delaware North’s 100-year history and gave updates on the company’s exciting future – both in Boston and around the world. In addition, attendees watched videos of associates sharing why they are “Delaware North Proud” (#DelawareNorthProud) and what their “Banner Moments” (#BannerMoments) have been over the past 20 years; one such video can be seen by clicking here. TD Garden President Amy Latimer also addressed the associates – thanking the group for its collective effort in creating those aforementioned banner moments for guests during the past two decades.
Associates at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Mass., celebrated Delaware North’s 100th anniversary on Aug. 28. As a thank you to all associates for their continued dedication and contributions, they were greeted with custom 100th anniversary cupcakes. In addition, Delaware North’s team from the venue donated more than 1,000 pounds of food to a local food pantry, Our Daily Bread of Mansfield. The festivities concluded with awards given out to those employees who went above and beyond all expectations during the 2015 season. Each of those associates was awarded a certificate of recognition to go along with a gift of either event tickets, headphones, backpacks or gift cards. 
The Delaware North Sportservice team from Miller Park in Milwaukee celebrated the company’s 100th anniversary by donating 5,000 bags of kettle corn for an open house at the ballpark, which was sponsored by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation – a local organization also in the midst of its centennial.  
At Apache Greyhound Park in Arizona, Delaware North associates enjoyed a customized cake – complete with the company logo – and helped plant a century plant as a tribute to another 100 years of success.
Delaware North associates at Top of the Falls Restaurant in Niagara Falls State Park were treated to a Friday-night extravaganza on Oct. 2. A professional photographer was on-hand to capture the affair, which came complete with a photo booth, a raffle drawing and an ice-cream-eating contest. A catering company was even hired to handle the food service – giving every associate onsite a chance to enjoy a night off. Meanwhile, about 15 miles south, Delaware North Sportservice associates were celebrating at First Niagara Center in Buffalo, with festivities including specialty cookies and commemorative pins.
London’s Queen’s Manor Primary School recently held a competition to see which 20 students could draw the best cupcakes. The winners joined Delaware North’s team at Craven Cottage, home of Fulham FC, for a day of baking 100 specially branded cupcakes. Entrusted with recipe cards and wooden spoons, the children (pictured at left) donned company aprons and went to work in what was easily the company’s cutest celebration. Talk about proud past and inspiring the future (generation).
Kalaloch Lodge in Olympic National Park celebrated with a past-and-present theme. The fun kicked off at noon with a local band playing everyone’s favorite songs from the past, followed by a complimentary barbecue-style lunch – complete with seven different varieties of hot dogs served from a vintage cart (as pictured at right). After lunch, associates played a variety of games, including bean-bag toss, tetherball, ladder golf, and bocce ball. Party-goers also received complimentary gift bags, which included gifts for associates’ children, sweatshirts, T-shirts, reusable bags and cups, and hats. The festivities were also highlighted by a raffle for a pair of prizes: a Pendleton Blanket and a gift certificate for a two-night stay at Kalaloch Lodge. 
Attendees at the Delaware North centennial gala at the Stadium in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London were treated to an elegant array of English tea and gourmet cuisine, including smoked eel, mutton hot pot, quail eggs with caviar and red velvet cake. Gin- and tea-tasting events were also big hits at the celebration. 
Richmond International Airport celebrated Delaware North's 100th anniversary on Oct. 6, when Delaware North Regional Vice President Steve Bass and his airport leadership team hosted a chef-attended lunch for associates (and their families), airline employees, the onsite Transportation Security Administration and the Capital Region Airport Commission. Each Delaware North attendee received a tumbler glass filled with candy, but four lucky associates (Lyndie Johnson, Sam Simon, Kia Ramos and Patty Crigger) received a glass with an added bonus – a $100 bill. Delaware North’s management team at the airport received backpacks with the company logo, while the Capital Region Airport Commission board members received engraved bottles of Dom Pérignon champagne. Meanwhile, an onsite photo booth prompted many associates to join with co-workers, throw on a costume and smile for the camera.
