‘Rathbun Lake Aquapark’ giant inflatable waterpark opens at Honey Creek Resort

The 3,900-square-foot attraction is the first of its kind in the state of Iowa

MORAVIA, Iowa (June 7, 2018) – Honey Creek Resort, located on Iowa’s Rathbun Lake, today announced the addition of Rathbun Lake Aquapark, a new inflatable waterpark amenity for guests of the resort. The attraction opened this week.

The Aquapark, which is open to the public in addition to guests of Honey Creek Resort, features 16 different inflatable components and can accommodate up to 40 guests at one time. Users must be at least 40 lbs. and wear a life jacket, which will be provided with the purchase of an Aquapark session.

Pricing is as follows:

Guest of Honey Creek Resort Day Visitor (non-resort guest)
Morning (10 a.m.-2 p.m.) $15 $25
Afternoon (2 p.m.-6 p.m.) $15 $25
Twilight (6 p.m.-close) $5 $10

Elements of the Rathbun Lake Aquapark include:

  • Action Tower XXL: Users can test their endurance through climbing, jumping, crawling and sliding.
  • Cliff: A mountain of a challenge. You’ll need speed, strength and agility to get past this obstacle.
  • Flip: Jump on one end and blast your friends off the other.
  • Slide: Whizz down the nearly four-foot Slide.
  • Foxtrot: The Foxtrot is a challenging balance beam that’s great for head-to-head competitions.
  • Zulu: Zulu combines a five-foot-high climbing wall with an exhilarating zero-entry slide.

Honey Creek Resort also introduced a water trampoline on Rathbun Lake in 2017. Use of the water trampoline will be included with the purchase of an Aquapark session.

In addition to the Aquapark, Honey Creek Resort offers its guests ample opportunity for recreation on Rathbun Lake – Iowa’s second-largest lake, boasting 11,000 acres of water and 150 miles of shoreline. Beginning this summer, Honey Creek will offer laser tag, disc golf, Kan-Jam, karaoke, and oversized games like Jenga, Connect Four and pong.

Also included in every overnight stay at Honey Creek is the use of its water trampoline, stand up paddleboards, kayaks, beach volleyball, horseshoe pit and fishing equipment; or guests can rent a variety of seasonal watercraft like jet skis, ski boats and pontoons. Visitors can also bring their own watercraft and use Honey Creek’s marina with a boat launch, fishing pier and 40 boat slips.

In addition, Honey Creek Resort features Buccaneer Bay Indoor Water Park, educational naturalist programs, outdoor recreation like hiking and beach volleyball, and The Preserve at Rathbun Lake, an 18-hole, Audubon-certified golf course.

The resort also recently announced Honey Creek Live, a new, six-week outdoor concert series that will take place on Honey Creek’s Great Lawn, overlooking Rathbun Lake, every Thursday from June 28 to Aug. 2.
