International Space Station honored through World Peace Art Exhibition at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex

Kennedy Space Center, Fla. (November 9, 2010) – To celebrate the completion of the International Space Station (ISS), Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex will host the World Peace Art Exhibition, November 19-21, 2010. This year’s World Peace Art Exhibition, coordinated by the World Culture Art Co., LTD, will commemorate the international cooperation to create and build the Space Station, which promotes space activities worldwide in a borderless environment.

In addition to the 60 artistic space shuttle models designed by selected artists, the World Peace Art Exhibition will feature more than 180 pieces of art by Japanese artists, including sculptures, oil paintings, Japanese style paintings, calligraphy, poetry, and haiku.

The first 200 people to arrive to the exhibit on Nov. 19, beginning at 9:00 a.m., will receive a 2011 art poster calendar. Guests will have the opportunity to interact with select artists who will be on-hand to discuss the artwork and conduct live demonstrations and workshops. Admission to the World Peace Art Exhibition, which is located in the Early Space Exploration building, is included in admission to Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and is open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. For more information, visit www.kennedyspacecenter.com.
