Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack, Delaware North’s gaming property in Wheeling, W.Va., on March 5 celebrated the grand opening of its new Light & Wonder Lounge, a high-energy gaming lounge featuring the latest innovations from global gaming leader Light & Wonder.
The lounge is located by the High Limit room and introduces a curated collection of the most sought-after titles and cutting-edge hardware to the Wheeling gaming floor.
“The opening of the Light & Wonder Lounge represents our commitment to providing guests with high-quality casino entertainment,” said Kim Florence, president and general manager of Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack. “By partnering with Light & Wonder, we are bringing Vegas-style machines to West Virginia, complete with the games and technology players appreciate most.”
To commemorate the grand opening, the casino held a ribbon-cutting ceremony with a champagne toast and free giveaways for guests in attendance. In addition, a limited number of players who used their Lucky North® Rewards card in the room during the celebration received $50 in free play automatically loaded onto their card.

Highlights of the Light & Wonder Lounge include:

- State-of-the-Art Hardware: The lounge features Light & Wonder’s latest immersive player technology, including the COSMIC™ Upright cabinet with 4K Ultra HD displays and enhanced player interaction, with additional hardware enhancements debuting in the coming months.
- Elite Bonusing Xperience (EBX): Integrating social gaming mechanics, the lounge offers time-released rewards and level progression for Lucky North Rewards members.
The grand opening celebration garnered local media attention, including from The Wheeling Intelligencer and TV stations WTRF and WTOV.
