Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack debuts new restaurant and nine-concept food hub

WHEELING, W.Va. – Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack today announced the opening of several food and beverage (F&B) concepts, including a new onsite food hub featuring nine individual concepts.

The new F&B offerings are part of a $4.5 million project that has transformed the overall guest experience at Wheeling Island, which also includes enhancements to the hotel and gaming operations.

Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack is owned and operated by Delaware North, a global hospitality and entertainment company with a portfolio of regional gaming and entertainment destinations, including Mardi Gras Casino & Resort near Charleston, W.Va.

“Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack is committed to delivering unforgettable experiences to our guests, and the opening of our new F&B concepts will further enhance that experience,” said Kim Florence, president and general manager of Wheeling Island. “Our goal was to create a variety of options for our guests – from quick grab-and-go meals to an elevated lounge experience – ensuring that there is something for everyone.”

Guests can enjoy an elevated dining experience at Cask & Clover Kitchen and Bar, featuring an elegant lounge atmosphere open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night service.

The Gravitate Food Hub features nine unique proprietary concepts, offering a diverse selection of food styles for guests, including:

  • The House that Patty Built, featuring a variety of double smash burgers, fries and onion rings
  • Birria Cantina Mexican Cuisine, featuring birria chicken or beef tacos, nachos and quesadillas
  • Fan Fuel, featuring sports snacks such as chicken wings, sandwiches and Firecracker Shrimp
  • Hencraft, a new concept by Delaware North’s Patina Group, featuring a golden-crusted fried chicken sandwich stacked with crisp lettuce, briny pickles and creamy kewpie mayo on a fresh, toasted roll
  • Reel Bols, featuring make-your-own Asian bowls offering your choice of rice, proteins, vegetables and sauces, and served with an egg roll
  • Shakes & Cakes, featuring indulgent desserts and shakes that can be upgraded to a spirited version with premium liquor
  • The Grind Café, originally launched at Delaware North-owned-and-operated Southland Casino Hotel in West Memphis, Ark., featuring gourmet coffees, pastries and grab-and-go menu offerings.
  • Chef Faves, featuring chef-driven entrees, including meatloaf and salmon with rice and seasonal vegetables
  • The Saucy Side Italian Cuisine, featuring pizza, salads and make-your-own pasta bowls with your choice of pasta, proteins, vegetables and sauces, and served with a breadstick

The Express Kitchen, open 24 hours a day, allows guests to quickly fuel up on food and drinks, including coffee, salads and sandwiches, and provides a streamlined self-checkout kiosk.

The new concepts join Wheeling Island’s sports bar, fine-dining restaurant, The Pointe Steakhouse, and buffet, which was fully renovated and enhanced in 2024.

The casino’s 151-room hotel is being renovated in phases over the next several months to minimize guest impact.
