Donations to benefit the United Way, Salvation Army & many more
(Wheeling, WV – November 30, 2017) After a yearlong fundraising drive, the Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack WISH program is giving back to the community this season with a charitable donation of more than $30,000 to area charities.
The Wheeling Island Sharing Hope (WISH) is an initiative that was started nearly 10 years ago to help give back to the community. Each year, The WISH committee selects 10 area charities to benefit from the donation box at the casino floor entrance and from associate donations every Friday on Jeans & T-shirt day.
The charities to benefit from this donation are Wheeling Health Right, Easter Seals, Crittenton Services, Autism Society, Helping Heroes, Madison Elementary, United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley, Make a Wish Foundation, West Virginia Breast Health Initiative and the Salvation Army.
Kimberly Florence, President & General Manager, will be on-hand for the check presentations on Thursday, November 30 and is honored to be part of a team of associates and visiting guest that care a lot about giving back to the community. “We are very fortunate that our company, associates and our guests show value in giving back to the local community” Florence said, “These charitable donations are going to wonderful organizations that will help make the holiday season a bit brighter for those in need and continue to fund the important services they offer in our community.”
The property will continue in full holiday spirit as they launch their “12 Days of Christmas Toy Drive” on December 1st, with all proceeds going to the Salvation Army.
