KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. (December 15, 2010) – Step into a 3D action-packed digital world like no other at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, home to a five-and-a-half story tall IMAX® Theater. TRON: Legacy – An IMAX 3D Experience® opens at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex on Friday, December 17, 2010.
Watch in IMAX® 3D as Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (Oscar®– and Golden Globe®– winner Jeff Bridges), looks into his father’s disappearance and finds himself pulled into the digital world of Tron where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin’s loyal confidant Quorra (Olivia Wilde), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey of escape across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous. This digital realm comes to life with a soundtrack by Grammy Award® -winning artist, Daft Punk.
TRON: Legacy has been digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience®. The film was shot in 3D and includes more than 43 minutes of visually stunning footage specifically designed to maximize the screen for IMAX theatergoers. With crystal-clear images, laser-aligned digital sound and maximized field of view, IMAX provides the world’s most immersive movie experience.
TRON: Legacywill be shown at the IMAX® 3D Theater at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex on December 17 through February 10, 2011. From December 17 through January 2, movie show times are 3:00 p.m., 5:30 p.m., and 8:00 p.m. daily. Beginning January 3 through February 10, movie show times will be at 3:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. daily. Guests can purchase movie tickets for the 3:00 p.m. show for $7.50 + tax with a required regular admission ticket. For the 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. showings, guests can purchase movie tickets for $15 + tax and do not need a regular admission ticket.
