TD Garden last week announced the launch of Causeway Creators, a new initiative that celebrates New England’s vibrant creative community by commissioning local talent to create bespoke gifts for the world-renowned musicians, entertainers and special guests who perform at the company-owned sports and entertainment arena.
Each custom piece will offer a meaningful welcome to visiting talent while showcasing the creativity, craftsmanship and culture that define the region.
“Causeway Creators reflects our commitment to supporting New England’s creative community while creating meaningful opportunities for local artists and small businesses,” said Glen Thornborough, president of TD Garden and executive vice president and chief operating officer of the Boston Bruins. “By providing a platform for local artists to connect with world-class performers, we’re celebrating the creativity that defines our region while expanding on the impact of programs like TD Garden House Artist and our partnerships throughout the community.”
Causeway Creators builds on the success of the arena’s TD Garden House Artist Program through which artists from underrepresented communities across New England are commissioned to create transformative works in and around TD Garden, enriching the guest experience with diverse perspectives and a strong sense of place.
Causeway Creators extends that mission beyond the venue by connecting Boston-area makers directly with the performers who take the TD Garden stage.

The program has already fostered meaningful partnerships with organizations across the region, including the School of Fashion Design, helping provide emerging creatives with hands-on opportunities to showcase their talents on a global stage.
“These collaborations with TD Garden have been life changing,” said Laura Plad, a School of Fashion Design student whose custom creations have been gifted to artists such as Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande and Megan Moroney. “I’ve received countless inquiries since creating the headpieces and boots.”
The Boston Globe recently featured an article about the program, highlighting several of the bespoke gifts, including Plad’s work.
The program is open to both emerging and established creatives working across a wide range of mediums, including painting, illustration, sculpture, woodworking, textiles and mixed media. Applicants from across New England will be evaluated on artistic quality, originality, craftsmanship and their ability to create custom concepts inspired by TD Garden events and performances.
