Southland Casino Hotel celebrates 70th anniversary

VOL 27 ISSUE 37, September 21, 2026

Southland Casino Hotel, Delaware North’s superregional casino in West Memphis, Ark., on Sept. 5 celebrated the property’s 70th anniversary.

The weekend celebration included live music, family activities, food and drinks and a special drone and laser show.

“The 70th celebration was a great way for us to honor Southland’s history and also thank our guests for their support throughout the years,” said Osi Imomoh, president and general manager of Southland Casino Hotel. “We look forward to continuing to watch Southland shine in the next 70 years.”

Southland Casino Hotel’s 70th anniversary celebration included live entertainment, family-friendly activities, a birthday cake treat for guests, drone show and grand finale drawing of 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air.

Delaware North’s history at Southland spans the entire 70 years, with the company serving as the food service provider of the then-Southland Greyhound Park before purchasing the property in 1976.

In the decades that followed, Delaware North continued to invest in the property, through several enhancement and expansion projects, including the completion of a multiyear, $320 million expansion in 2022 that transformed the property into a Las Vegas-style destination with a 300-room, 20-story hotel.

Recent additions to the property include a refresh of the fitness center, upgraded in-room amenities and a remodeled Chairman’s Bar on the main casino floor.

Southland has been a long-time supporter of the local community, providing jobs and business stability in addition to millions of dollars in donations to local businesses and organizations.

The 70th celebration also included the grand finale drawing for the Legacy of Luck promotion, with one winner of a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air and 70 winners of Free Play totaling more than $40,000.
