Delaware North’s veteran Team Member Resource Group (TMRG), Veterans Network, welcomed nonprofit organization WNYHeroes earlier this month for a special meet and greet spotlighting the organization.
Three veterans and their service dogs, Shadow, Sky and Bluey, visited Delaware North’s corporate headquarters in Buffalo to share more information on the nonprofit and specifically the Pawsitive for Heroes program, which provides service dogs and training to veterans who benefit from extra support.
Through partnerships with New York State correctional facilities, the service dogs live and train with people who are incarcerated before being permanently paired with their veteran handlers. The journey continues with 6–8 months of hands-on training at various facilities in Western New York.
Veterans Network is collecting donations for WNYHeroes service dog program through Sept. 30 at corporate headquarters.
