Hammons Field, home of the Double-A affiliate of Major League Baseball’s St. Louis Cardinals and the Missouri State Bears, has officially been renamed Route 66 Stadium.
The venue, where Sportservice serves as hospitality partner, was known as Hammons Field since opening in 2004. As Route 66 approaches its centennial – and with the historic highway originating in Springfield – Route 66 Stadium marks a new chapter in the ballpark’s legacy.
The change was made possible through a collaboration among the Springfield Cardinals, O’Reilly Auto Parts, the city of Springfield, Missouri State University and Mercy Hospital.

Homefield Pub + Social, operated by Sportservice at Titletown adjacent to Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisc., is partnering with local radio station 95.9 KISS-FM on a burger competition that encourages guests to try and vote for their favorite creations.
Throughout June, guests can visit the restaurant and order the “Freaky Greeky” – a smash burger with tzatziki, Havarti, red onion, lettuce and tomato on ciabatta – or “The Afternoon Smash” – a smash burger with fried egg, bacon jam, garlic aioli, crispy onions and bourbon BBQ sauce on a pretzel bun – and vote for their favorite burger.
The winning burger will be available on Homefield’s menu throughout July. The special menu items were developed by Executive Sous Chef David Schultz and four KISS-FM hosts. Homefield General Manager Jason Crooks and Schultz were interviewed by KISS-FM last week to talk about the competition and have hosts sample the burgers.
