Jerome Scott, a hot dog vendor at Progressive Field in Cleveland, recently garnered attention from local media and the community for his 50-year career at the ballpark — a tenure marked by countless memories and strong connections with fans.
Among the highlights of Scott’s career are selling a personal-record 2,800 hot dogs during a single game and being named the stadium’s Employee of the Month three times.
Scott also achieved a lifelong goal when he threw out the ceremonial first pitch before Cleveland’s game on Sunday, July 5, during the second annual Black Excellence Celebration at Progressive Field. The event honored the culture, contributions and achievements of Cleveland’s Black community, and Scott was among the community members recognized during the pregame ceremony.
