For the second year in a row, Delaware North is bringing its culinary expertise to Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game – this time at Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves. Charles Adams (right), general manager for Delaware North at Truist Park, and Jaco Dreyer (left), executive chef, stand behind a lineup of new menu items crafted especially for the 2025 Midsummer Classic. The offerings were unveiled during a media preview event last week, with coverage from outlets such as Yahoo! Sports, Men’s Journal, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Fox 5 Atlanta and the NBC affiliate. A full recap of the event, which wraps up Tuesday, will be featured in next week’s edition.

Actor Adam Sandler (above) donned his iconic black No. 18 Boston Bruins jersey and slipped into character as Happy Gilmore, live on the big screen in Los Angeles, to announce the Bruins’ first-round draft pick on June 27 – center James Hagens from Boston College.

Sandler opened with the signature line, “My name is Happy Gilmore, how are you?” followed by, “Proud to be part of the 2025 NHL Draft. The Boston Bruins select … James Hagens. Way to go, homie!” Sandler once again stars in the title role in the upcoming  “Happy Gilmore 2” movie sequel.

“You’re just sitting there, waiting to hear your name called,” Hagens said. “When you hear Adam Sandler call it, it’s pretty cool. This is a really cool moment.”

To match the excitement of the NHL Draft, Banners Kitchen & Tap (above), located at the Hub on Causeway in Boston, hosted a viewing party for fans with special appearances from Head Coach Marco Sturm, NESN play-by-play announcer Judd Sirott and In-Arena Host Michaela Johnson. The fully occupied restaurant exploded with excitement when Sandler appeared on screen as Happy Gilmore and selected Hagens, whose favorite movie is “Happy Gilmore.”

Patina Group is well represented at the annual “Flavors of Florida,” hosted by Kroger at Disney Springs from June 27 through Aug. 10, through which participating restaurants feature special menu items inspired by the Sunshine State.

The Edison’s Executive Chef Ben Dodaro (above at left) and Beverage Manager Cole Johnson (above at right) on July 4 hosted a special demo for 175 guests at the Disney Springs Lakeside Stage highlighting some of the restaurant’s Flavors of Florida items, including the Bruschetta Calabrese featuring grilled ciabatta topped with nduja (spreadable spicy pork) and Florida-sourced birretta stracciatella cheese, petal honey and micro arugula. Johnson talked about the inspiration for the Southeastern Sangria made with Cabernet Sauvignon from the Central Florida winery Lakeridge.
