Parks and Resorts celebrates the power of partnership and driving positive change with new Vicki McMichael Stewardship Award

Each year, Niagara Falls State Park in New York state welcomes millions of visitors from around the world to the iconic destination – and Delaware North’s team members play an important role in creating exceptional experiences for these guests.  

Caitlin Drennan, ecotourism manager for Delaware North at Niagara Falls, in early April was recognized for her contributions to both guests and the company’s overall operations at the park by receiving the inaugural Parks and Resorts Vicki McMichael Stewardship Award. 

The award, which holds a special significance within the division and is dedicated to honoring the memory of a Parks team member who in 2024 lost her battle with a long-term illness, recognizes a leader who exemplifies the power of partnership, fosters strong relationships internally and with external partners, and implements or advocates for practices that preserve and protect resources for future generations. 

“Caitlin has a deep passion for her work and for driving positive change at Delaware North’s operations in Niagara Falls,” said Michael Barnes, general manager for Delaware North at the park, who presented Drennan with the award alongside Scott Socha, group president for Parks and Resorts, Travel and Delaware North Australia. “In addition to developing and successfully launching the park’s walking tour business, she also stepped in to temporarily manage our restaurant during a critical time.” 

Drennan was also recognized for developing strong relationships with the other managers at the park and fostering a collaborative team environment, which led to the successful launch of multiple stewardship projects. 

Delaware North has operated food, beverage, retail and other visitor services at Niagara Falls State Park since 1995.
