Delaware North Travel last week unveiled exciting new food and beverage experiences at two major U.S. airports – Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) – bringing local flair to travelers on the go.

Whether it’s sipping a cold brew in Detroit or sampling craft whiskey in Atlanta, travelers now have more ways to connect with the cities they’re passing through, thanks to Delaware North.

DTW: A taste of the Motor City

In partnership with the Wayne County Airport Authority, Delaware North has opened two locally inspired concepts in the McNamara Terminal near Gate B6:

  • Born in Detroit Kitchen + Bar: This full-service restaurant celebrates Detroit’s culinary grit with breakfast, lunch and dinner options, plus a cocktail menu inspired by the 313. It also features retail items from the beloved Born in Detroit apparel brand and serves locally crafted 8 Mile Vodka.
  • The Great Lakes Coffee Roasting Company: Adjacent to the restaurant, this café offers expertly brewed coffee, cold brews and light bites. Founded in Eastside Detroit, the brand brings its 31-year legacy of quality and community to the airport.

“This newest opening is a celebration of Detroit’s vibrant food and beverage scene,” said Robert Thormeier, chief operating officer of Delaware North Travel.

The new openings were featured by local media outlets such as the Detroit Free Press and Detroit News.

At ATL, Delaware North has launched ASW Flights + Bites and two new Starbucks locations, offering travelers a mix of local craft and global convenience:

  • ASW Flights + Bites (Gate B33): A tasting room from Atlanta’s award-winning ASW Distillery, featuring bourbon, rye and vodka cocktails paired with small bites. It’s a relaxing space to unwind and sample the spirit of Atlanta.
  • Starbucks (Gates B15 and B28): These new locations offer mobile ordering, loyalty rewards and all the handcrafted beverages travelers love.

“These openings represent our commitment to enhancing the travel experience,” added Chris Chila, vice president of operations for Delaware North Travel.
