Operations leaders from Delaware North’s Parks and Resorts and Gaming divisions convened April 20–23 at the company-owned Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack in Wheeling, W.Va., for the annual lodging conference.
The agenda addressed a broad range of topics, including service trends, company standards, team member development and the generation of ideas for future strategies.
“Our operations teams in Parks and Gaming serve distinct guests and work in different environments; however, this conference provided a valuable forum to exchange knowledge and best practices, and to discuss shared challenges and emerging opportunities across both lodging and gaming,” said Tom Long, vice president of operations for Parks and Resorts. “By bringing these groups together, we fostered dialogue intended to inspire new approaches, strengthen collaboration and continue delivering exceptional experiences for guests.”
Company leaders also offered perspectives on hospitality, including Patina Group President John Kolaski (JK); Wheeling Island President and General Manager Kim Florence; and team members who support GreenPath® and sustainability, GuestPath® and technology initiatives.
Conference attendees also toured the property, enjoyed a comedy performance and dined at the on-site The Pointe Steakhouse.
